Notes

• Meeting began at 8:05 pm and a quorum was verified

General

• Motion to approve February 20, 2008 minutes; approved unanimously

Rec

• New Director of Spring Rec Soccer: John Slater
• Spring Rec update: appx. 360 registered players; slightly ahead of last year

Travel

• Coaches’ meeting scheduled for March 18 at The Bog restaurant
• Travel Development Academy approved by Travel Executive Committee for fall ’08 season
• March practice options were well received and field usage was strong
• Travel tryouts to be discussed with Travel Exec on March 19
• PUMA Schwab Cup not able to happen this year; U-16B Patriots planned to go
• Updated classification of teams:
1. Club = Classic
2. Premier
3. Premier Elite = Academy

Sunburst

• 63 registered teams (6 WWPSA) as of 3/22/08; was 52 (11) last year
• Enough teams for flights for U-11 Boys, plus U-10, U-11 and U-13 Girls

Facilities

• Field set-up completed (March 15)
• Conover Improvements
• Motion to approve extending irrigation work being done at Conover to FS # 2 at an incremental cost of $8,500; approved unanimously
• Motion to approve $15,500 to invest in 1 set of full-sided portable goals, 1 set of small-sided portable goals, 1 set of small aluminum frames and soil repair on Zaitz and Conover Great Lawn field; approved unanimously
• Fields & Facilities Committee
• Fields & Facilities Meeting held on February 28 to review the status of all facilities and proposed improvement projects
• Committee to be formed to set priorities of proposed facilities projects and recommend a course of action to the Board
• Board will then approve a set amount of money for the committee to spend to fulfill the high-priority projects
• Fundraising Committee will need to be formed to raise adequate capital to fund specific facilities projects
• Synthetic turf field use is strong and compliance with policies has been attentive

Community Relations

• Community Education Fair Feb 23 recap
• Wildcats update and summer camp
• Free tickets for all WWPSA girls players to games; parents tickets will be discounted
• Will have 2 home games during Sunburst weekend; free tickets to all Sunburst participants and pre-game activities for Rec players
1. Must be accompanied for adult who pays ½ price
2. Player must wear uniform
• Summer camp is confirmed: July 7-11, with Capt. of US National Team coming to lead the camp
• Monday nights in spring on WWCP # 2 will have group training by Wildcats coaches and players
• Plainsboro Founder’s Day: May 4
• Grassroot Soccer United’s East Coast Dribble
• Concept introduced to us by PUMA
• Need to gauge interest and determine PUMA’s expectations from WWPSA

• Grade 9 Ref Course Completed (March 15)
• ACL Prevention
