The West Windsor Plainsboro Soccer Association is again proud to offer the specialized Tactical & Positional training program for all of our Travel soccer players. The program has matured and evolved over the years and offers our players the highest level of training in our area. The cost to register for any of the below sessions remains at a significantly reduced rate of what similar programs would cost, an incomparable value for this level of training. The programs are subsidized by WWPSA in our commitment to developing our soccer players to their highest level based on their ability, commitment and interest.
We urge you to take advantage of these offerings and register as soon as possible; each class is limited to about 14 players and will fill up quickly on a first-come, first-served basis. Particulars are as follows:

Speed and Agility Training
Dates: Mondays May 12,19, June 2,9; (small sided) 6:30-7:30; (full sided) 7:30-8:30 pm

Trainer: Coach Jackson
Coach Jackson, former nationally-ranked sprinter and two-time WW-P Track & Field "Coach of the Year", has developed a state-of the art speed, agility, and quickness program for WW-P travel soccer players. Some of the techniques employed are cutting-edge polyometric training techniques that will utilize agility ladders, bounding boxes, drag chutes, hurdles and a variety of foot quickness drills that build first step acceleration and breakaway explosive speed. These advanced training techniques will help players with additional quickness on the field. Coach Jackson has 7 years of experience as Director of the Speed-Agility-Quickness summer Clinic in West Windsor-Plainsboro.
1v1 To Goal
Dates: Mondays through May 19 (small-sided) 5:00-6:00 pm (full-sided) 6:00-7:00
Field: Conover field in front of parking lot
Trainer: Dean Slaughter
This course is designed to improve the players ability to take on opponents in one on one situations. The program is designed to facilitate ball mastery and to encourage a positive attacking mindset. Some of the specific skills that will be covered are:
- Clearly defined change of speed and direction
- Speed of the attacking dribble
- Time and execution of the move
- Quality of touches when approaching the defender
- Attacking the net
- Using angles to your advantage when shooting
- Quality of decision making at points of pressure
- Breakaways and evaluating your options going forward
Advanced Goalkeeping
Dates: Wednesdays through May 21; (small sided) 4:30-5:30 pm, (full sided) 5:30-6:30
Field: Conover field by North Post Rd.
Trainer: Jason Grubbs
The advanced goalkeeping program is for the player who has already mastered the basics and is ready to move on and learn advanced techniques. For the experienced goalkeeper, this is a rare opportunity to improve your skills and advance your play in the net. The focus of the program will include:
- Footwork and handling
- Position and angles
- Saving low and high shots
- Dealing with crosses
- 1 v 1 situations
- Receiving the back pass
- GK conditioning session
