WWPSA Technical Development Pathway for players 5-10 years - Spring 2012 Registration - Now Open
WWPSA has opened registration for its Spring 2012 Season for Travel Development Academy and Pre-TDA players from Kindergarten through to 4th grade. Our sessions are aimed at two different groups of players:
- PreTechnical Development Academy (Pre-TDA) aimed at players 5 and 6 years old (Tuesday/Friday practice, Saturday scrimmage) for more information on Pre-TDA http://www.wwpsa.org/TravelDevelopmentAcademy/591420.html
- Technical Development Academy (TDA) aimed at players 7-10 years (Monday/Wednesday practice, Saturday scrimmage) for more information on TDA http://www.wwpsa.org/TravelDevelopmentAcademy/546120.html
Our goal within the TDA program is to provide you with the best possible age appropriate technical soccer development program in the Region, to ultimately give you the pathway choice that upon completion of the program your child is fully prepared for either continuation into our Travel program or to be able to enjoy the Recreation playing environment at a higher level.
Training sessions will begin for both programs the week of March 19th and run for 10 weeks. All practices sessions will run between the time slots of 4:30pm-7:30pm (Pre-TDA finished by 7pm). Practice sessions will take place at West Windsor Community Park (tbc).
All training sessions are delivered by our professional training partners from ProActive Sport and Maestro Soccer.
Scrimmages will take place on Saturdays beginning March 24th and end May 26th. The girls will play at 2:00 PM and the boys will play at 3:30 PM. With the exception of our Festival Days (scrimmage days vs Princeton, Montgomerry and Yardley-Makefield), all scrimmages will take place at Sarnoff.
The 10 week program will focus on the following areas of individual technical and tactical play:
- Individual moves to beat a defender under game pressure.
- Develop players ability to keep the ball close comfortably using multiple surfaces of both feet.
- Refine players first touch from balls served on the ground and from the air.
- Continue to develop the technical components of passing and shooting
