Mercer FC Magic - Finalists in Championship Division of Baltimore Mania Tourney
March 2013

Our U13 Girls Mercer FC Magic team were Finalists in the Championship division of the Baltimore Mania Tournament.  The Magic beat two highly ranked teams from Pennsylvania (Montgomery 2-1 and CRUSA FC Bucks 3-1), before falling in penalty shots (4-3) in their championship match.  The Magic featured a high pressure defense, possession style game with occassional counter strikes that led to 6 goals, and allowing only 3 against.

WWPSA Warriors
March 2013

Our U17 Boys WWPSA Warriors reached the finals at the recent MSSL Spring College Showcase. After emerging with a 3-0 record from a very

competitive field in group play, the Warriors advanced to the finals, losing in a penalty shootout .  Congratulations to the Warriors on their success!

WWP CHALLENGE U18 GIRLS
The West Windsor Plainsboro Soccer Association’s senior and graduating team for 2012 is the WWP Challenge. They are considered one of the top teams in the State of New Jersey and have excelled as student-athletes within club and high school soccer as well as in academics. In the past few weekends, they represented WWPSA for the final time earning a 5-1 victory against the NJ Dynamo in MAPS play. Team members will now prepare to continue their soccer careers as college student-athletes and have made the following commitments:

Congratulations Barcelona U14 boys

The Barcelona U14 boys completed their regular season in MAPS undefeated with a record of 9-0-3.  During the 12 game season the team scored 26 goals and allowed only 4 goals.  In tournament play from Memorial Day through Columbus Day the team finished as Champions or Finalists in 4 of their 5 Tournaments.  Based on their success, the team was ranked as high as #9 in New Jersey during the Fall season.  The coaches and parents are very proud of the boys’ accomplishments.

State Cup and JAGS Soccer Results

September 17, 2011 West Windsor Plainsboro U14 Girl Comets defeated the Homdel Stallion Arsenal in round one of the State Cup.  WWPSA Comets scoring came from Meghan Wacheria for two, Lindsay Chevlin had one and Carli Harpel had another to defeat Homdel 4 to 2 in a brilliantly played game by the entire Comets team.  The U14 Comets look to play for round #2 on Saturday, September 24th.

In JAGS play on Sunday, September 18, 2011 West Windsor Plainsboro U14 Girl Comets defeated the visiting Hunterdon United SC Blue Lightning 3 to 0, with two goals from Meghan Wacheria and one goal from Carli Harpel to give the Comets the win. 

U-11G Cheetahs, U-11B Vikings, & U-13G Cosmos have a Blast at Spook-a-Rama

WWPSA Pride Champions at Wall Fall Classic
10/11/2010

The U14G Pride were crowned champions at the Wall Fall Classic.  The Championship game went into sudden death overtime when Gabriela Portilla flicked a header on a pass from Morgan Hendry for the decisive goal in the 78th minute to defeat Battle of Monmouth (BOM).

Congratulations to all the WWPSA Teams that recently participated at the South Brunswick Kickoff Tournament on September 10-11. 

All the girls and boys played very well, many in their very first tournaments ever!

U11G Dynamite Crowned Champions at EB Tourney!

Congratulations to the WWPSA Dynamite U-11 girls, who were crowned Champions at the East Brunswick Labor Day Tournament. The Dynamite continued this season right where it left off last year when they had a 4-0 record in the 2010 WWPSA Sunburst Tournament.  During their most recent four games, the Dynamite didn’t allow a single goal and scored 14 goals in beating teams from Kearny, Manalapan, East Brunswick, and Hunterdon.  The Dynamite ball possession style carried the play, giving the Dynamite team a significant advantage throughout the games.  Again, congrats to the Dynamite and all the parents who support the team!

 

 

U13G Comets Champions at Branchburg

The U-13 girls WWPSA Comets went undefeated at the Branchburg Labor Day Tournament scoring 7 goals with a 4 win shutout, not letting in a single goal during the entire tournament.  Congratulations to the players, coaches, and parents.

 

 

WWPSA U-14 KICKERS Win JAGS Tournament
Congratulations to the WWPSA KICKERS who took first place in the Blue Division of the Jersey Area Girls Tournament in Bordentown last Sunday. The KICKERS won 3 games and tied one against some very competitive JAGS League teams in 90 plus degree weather. In the championship game the Girls won a hard fought battle 2-1 which helped provide a great Fathers Day present and happy ending to a successful season.

It all started in the fall of 2002 when we were lucky enough to be asked to coach a group of what looked to us the smallest young 10/11 year old girls we had ever seen came together to form the U11 Girls WWP Celtics, this became apparent when we started playing other teams and everyone looked about a foot taller than all of our girls!

WWPSA U17 Wild Crowned NJ State CHAMPIONS!!!

This Sunday, the WWPSA Premier Elite Wild U17 Girls were crowned NJ State Cup Champions after a 2-0 decisive win against a very tough South Jersey Elite team.  Click here for more info.

WWPSA is very proud of this major accomplishment. Congratulations and let the celebrations begin!!!

Congratulations to the U17B WWPSA Biancoverdi
1st place in this weekends Burlington Memorial Day tournament

Congratulations to the U17B WWPSA Biancoverdi and Coach Chris Mangone, who took 1st place in this weekends Burlington Memorial Day tournament.  Winning 2 and tying 1, it came down to the final game against the host team.  In a must win situation the BV won 2-1 in sweltering heat.  Thanks to Kevin McCabe and the U16 United for guest player support.

U-11 Revolution Clinches Flight Championship

The U11 Boys Revolution capped their successful season with a dramatic 4-3 victory over the North Plainfield Firestorm on November 22.  The Revolution finished the Fall 2009 season with a record of 8-1-1, their only loss being in week 2 against the same North Plainfield team.  The flight championship came down to the last game, with North Plainfield ahead in the standings by one point heading into the game.

U-11 Anacondas Fight Back to Win Flight

The Boys U11 Anacondas struggled to start their fall season, digging themselves into a hole by going 1-2. A rash of injuries also left the team with minimal substitutions during a number of games, but the team never faltered thereafter. Under the training of Zizo Sharif, the Anacondas went on a 6-0-1 streak to win their flight in MNJYSA. Highlighting the turnaround, they achieved three consecutive shutouts to finish the season.

The Pride Take 2nd Place
at 2009 JAGS Tournament

The WWPSA U12G Pride were finalist at this weekend’s JAGS tournament.  The Pride came up short in the Championship game against a tough Braddock Youth 96 Elite Fusion squad (ranked #10 in Virginia).  The team finished their tournament schedule as Champions at Hopewell Valley, runner-ups at the Wall Invitational, runner-ups at JAGS and semifinalist of the US Club State Cup.  The team will finish the 2008-2009 season ranked in the top 20 in NJ.

Finalists At Prestigious Columbia Invitational
May 26, 2009

On the Memorial Day weekend, the WWP Challenge U-15 girls represented WWPSA at one of the top girl’s tournaments in the country. Playing in the premier flight of this college showcase, the Challenge lost the championship game 1-0.

U-11 Terminators Finalists at PDA Tournament
April 4 & 5, 2009

This past weekend, the WWP Terminators were finalists in the PDA Tournament. The Terminators faced strong competition in the preliminary matches and came away with a 1-0 victory over Ocean Surf, a 5-2 victory over Garfield Chiquitines, and earned a 1-1 draw with Marlboro in dramatic fashion scoring the equalizer with 25 seconds remaining.

Lightning Finish 4-0 at Sunburst
U-10 Girls

After finishing 8 - 2 in the Spring Season, the WWPSA Lightning continued their excellent play winning all 4 games they played in the Sunburst Tournament. The Lightning continued to demonstrate their excellent possession style of play and balanced attack with 7 different players finding the back of the net for goals.

Premier Travel Teams Compete
at the PDA Spring Kickoff Tournament

We want to wish our WWPSA Premier Teams good luck this weekend as they venture to play some tough competition at the PDA Spring Kickoff Tournament.  The following teams will be participating:

Wild Win Championship at MSSL College Showcase

The U16G WWP Wild recently completed a very successful fall tournament season by going undefeated at the MSSL 2008 College Showcase tournament.  At that tournament, the Wild won preliminary matches in the Diamond Division against SAC-HC Columbia United (MD) and Syracuse FC Tsunami (NY) and tied the South Jersey Barons Banshees (NJ) before defeating the Eastern FC Bobcats (CT) 2-0 in the finals.

U12 Girls Pride Advance to NJ State Cup Semis
4/23/2009

The WWPSA U12G Pride advanced to the semifinals of the US Club NJ State Cup with a solid win over the Jersey Knights Daggers.  The Pride jumped to a quick start and never looked back.  The game was played at the Jersey Knights’ facility.  The Pride will be playing their Semifinal game against Wayne Power at Mercer Community Park on Saturday May 16th.  Congratulations.

WWPSA Celebrates Its First Youth TDA Festival
October 25, 2008

WWPSA would like to extend its gratitude to all who participated in our first ever Travel Development Academy Festival.  A special thanks to all the players, parents and coaches from the Montgomery Township Soccer Club, Yardley-Makefield Soccer Club, and Bridgewater Soccer Association for making the trip to our facilities.  The kids truly experienced a great time playing in the English Premier League type weather.

A Tribute to the WWP Breakaways
An incredible journey

It all began at Zaitz Field in September, 2000, when the U11 Premier girls team was formed and the players chose the name ‘The Breakaways’. No one who was present at its genesis would have predicted the incredible journey that was to follow.  This is what makes such things so thrilling!
