Interested in Coaching?
WWPSA To Host Prospective Coach Evenings

WWPSA greatly appreciates the support of our volunteer coaches without whom many of our programs would not be possible.  In particular, our Spring and Fall Recreational Soccer programs depend greatly on our volunteers.

If you are interested to step forward as a volunteer coach but are not sure that this is for you, we offer the following opportunities to meet with some of our professional training staff before you make your decision.

We will host two prospective coaches evenings. If you are interested, please stop by at any time during the evening that is convenient for you.  We will be conducting a recreational soccer camp led by our professional training partner, ProActive Sports & Soccer.  They will be there to speak with you about the role and responsibilities of volunteer coaches as well as to demonstrate some of the potential activities for coaches.

  • Tuesday 12th August, Conover Park, 5.30pm-8pm
  • Thursday 14th August, Conover Park, 5.30pm-8pm

In addition to these evenings, WWPSA offers support to volunteer coaches as follows:

  • Two pre-season coaches clinics will be held at WW Community Park on Tuesday 2nd September and Thursday 4th September, 7.30pm-9pm.  The evening includes demonstrations of age-appropriate activities for soccer practices as well as answering practical and philosophical questions.
  • Coaching Curriculum: WWPSA provides all recreational volunteer coaches with a comprehensive printed coaching curriculum with games and activities for all ages.  This 10-week plan provides easy to follow guildeines and instructions to make planning practices very easy !
  • Season-long availability for coaches with questions.  You can attend any midweek evening Recreational Group Training session and ask questions of our professionals.  They will be happy to help and even demonstrate answers to your questions.
  • For coaches who may be interested to further their education, WWPSA regularly hosts Coaching License courses. Starting with the "F" License and then progressing to "E" then "D" and higher, we support coaches who want to further their knowledge and coaching abilities.
  • On-site support: Professionals from ProActive will be available on Saturday mornings at locations where our youngest Leagues play including Kindergarten, 1st Grade & 2nd Grade.

Volunteer coaching can be extremely fulfilling. The most important requirements are a dose of enthusiasm, a willingness to learn, and a desire to help our children have fun in a positive and safe environment.  Previous soccer experience, while helpful, is not required.
