The West Windsor-Plainsboro Soccer Association cordially invites boys and girls teams U-9 through U-17 to participate in our 15th Annual Sunburst Soccer Tournament on May 30 - 31, 2009. This is a New Jersey Youth Soccer-sanctioned unrestricted tournament, so US Youth Soccer player passes and U.S. Club passes are permitted. West Windsor is located in Central New Jersey and is easily accessible by several major interstate highways.
The Sunburst Tournament has traditionally drawn 200+ teams from throughout New Jersey, Delaware, New York, Pennsylvania and Connecticut. Each age group typically includes multiple flights to allow for competitive play at all levels. The Tournament Committee makes every attempt to flight teams to provide the appropriate level of competition for all participating teams. All teams are guaranteed 4 games and a 3-person referee crew is utilized for all U-11 to U-17 games. All games are played at one central location at Mercer County Park in beautiful West Windsor, New Jersey.
Registration
Team fees for Sunburst 2009 are $420 for small-sided (U9-U10) and $495 for full-sided (U-11-U17) teams. Once you’re convinced that Sunburst is right for your team, register online to obtain information as early as possible, including e-mail updates on the tournament as we confirm them; the registration deadline is May 1, 2009.
What Happened at Sunburst 2009
In recognition of PUMA’s commitment to WWPSA, youth soccer and the newly-formed WPS (Women’s Professional Soccer) League, Sky Blue FC, our area’s own representative in the WPS, sent Christie Shaner and Julianne Sitch to sign autographs, take pictures and help spread the word about Sky Blue FC and the rest of the WPS. In addition, members of the NJ Wildcats, a semi-professional women’s team competing in the USL W-League, recognized as the premier development league for female players in North America, was at HQ to help us get excited about the upcoming season. The Wildcats practice in West Windsor and many of WWPSA’s graduates play in newly-formed Wildcats’ U-20 and U-23 teams. The Wildcats on-hand were eager to share with passersby their Summer schedule, local soccer clinics and their upcoming attempt to set the NJ juggling record!
