2013 Spring K-12th Grade

Below are the tentative details for WWPSA’s Spring 2013 youth recreational soccer program. Please read before registering.

Eligible Participants

Boys and Girls in Kindergarten through 12th Grades

Program Description

Saturday session at which there are no pre-assigned teams, no set game schedule, and no referees. Each session consist of warm-up activities followed by pick-up games. Teams are formed each week from the players that are present and as such the teams change from week to week. Players who want to play together should let the person who is forming the teams know they want to play together. Parents, Big Brothers and Big Sisters oversee the sessions to ensure player safety. They provide minimal instructions and directions.

This is a deliberate attempt to recreate the unstructured style of "street soccer" or "playground soccer" enjoyed throughout the world where children of all ages, boys and girls, form teams and play "pick-up" games on streets, parking lots, school playgrounds, and local parks. They organize their own teams, games, decide the playing area, choose teams, set up goals, develop their own rules, and just play. Many of the world’s greatest players in the past and present learned the game in this environment.

Wednesday optional practices sessions run by professional trainers.

Driving and Parking at Sarnoff
