WWPSA Soccer Field Usage Procedures

WWPSA requests that all volunteer coaches, parents and players abide by the following field use policies. These are designed for the safety of our players as well as to maintain the quality of the fields and our ability to use them in the future.  Please support WWPSA by respecting these policies.

  • All practices and games should be scheduled via the Director of Recreational Soccer.
  • Only volunteers and professionals with NJYS coaching passes are permitted on the field of play for practices due to insurance.  If you invite or permit other adults on the field of play during practice you put yourself at risk as a coach or trainer.
  • To meet KidsSafe requirements there must be a minimum of two (2) adults present at a soccer field for any practice or game.  This includes team practices, team games and T&P sessions. So for example if only a trainer is present with the players, the trainer will have to cancel the practice and send the players home.
  • Do not allow players’ siblings, friends, etc. on the field of play during practice.  Again it is an insurance issue and as a coach or trainer put yourself at risk.
  • WWCP #1 is a game only field and should not be used for any other purpose. All games have to be confirmed prior to use.
  • Sarnoff - there is absolutely no parking permitted along the internal roadway.  Park only in the designated parking lots.  No exceptions for parents who want to watch a practice or game from their car, or coaches and trainer who find it too far to carry equipment, etc.
  • Pick up after your team is finished at a field.  Make sure there is no garbage left behind.
  • It is up to every coach and trainer to monitor the condition of the field of play, the condition of the nets and the operation of the lights.  If the field is unsafe, lights are not working or a net needs repair the onus is on you to report it.  If you don’t report it no action is taken.
  • In case of an emergency, someone at the field should have a first aid kit, cell phone and emergency contact numbers for the players.  Does your trainer carry a first aid kit, emergency numbers and a cell phone if the coach is not present?
  • Just a reminder when on the field if you hear thunder or see lightning, you must vacate the field.  This includes distant lighting and thunder.  There must be a continuous period of at least 30 minutes of no thunder or lighting before going back out.
