| Rec Fall 2008 K-12th Grade Soccer |
Complete Information & Registration |
| Introduction |
Last year, more than 1,500 Kindergarten through 12th Grade boys and girls from West Windsor and Plainsboro participated in the Fall Youth Recreational soccer program. For 2008, we plan to improve our program in a number of important ways. Please read on to learn more about the plans. |
| What Fall Recreational Soccer is About |
Our goal is to deliver a quality soccer experience in a safe environment and, as a result, for players to want to return season after season. In 2008, emphasis will be placed on the formation process for teams with a primary goal of creating equity between teams. Ultimately, at game time, we want all teams to be in a fun and competitive environment. A key starting point is that player abilities are spread evenly between participating teams. Therefore, for the first time, the Fall 2008 season will begin with an "Opening Day", the primary purpose of which will be to form teams of equal ability from 2nd Grade through the Senior Leagues. Click here to learn more about Opening Day. |
| Registration |
Registration is open all players from West Windsor and Plainsboro. We also welcome non-residents to participate. Registration for the Fall 2008 program is now open. The registration deadline is August 15, 2008. All players are guaranteed a place when registering prior to the deadline. Beginning on August 16th, there is a late fee of $50 and participation is no longer guaranteed for the particular league you are interested in. No late fees apply to either Pre-K or Kindergarten leagues, and if your family is new in town. However, there are no other exceptions to the late fee. Register now to avoid disappointment.

| Player Registration Fee |
The registration fee for K-12 players is $110, which includes a $30 facilities maintenance and development fund fee. A late registration fee of $50 applies to all leagues except Kindergarten for registrations received after July 31st. If you need financial assistance, please contact the Director of Recreation Soccer. |
| Uniform Discount - Save $20 |
NEW: The $110 fee for 2008 has not changed from 2007. However, should you choose to reuse your uniform (either from Fall 2007 or Spring 2008), you may also select a $20 uniform discount which will reduce your registration fee to $90. If you plan to reuse your child’s Fall ’07 uniform again, please indicate that you wish to register for the "Fall Rec Uniform Discount", in addition to "Fall Rec Soccer". |
| Non-Volunteer Fee |
As WWPSA relies heavily on its volunteer parents, all Rec families are expected to volunteer in some capacity during the year. A complete description of volunteer roles and the approximate time commitment may be viewed here. Rec families may pay a Non-Volunteer Fee of $75 per household per year (Aug 1-Jul 31) if they choose not to volunteer for one of the options listed during registration.
|
| Payments & Mail In Registration |
When registering online, the preferred method of payment is by credit card. If needed, you can also pay by check, but your registration is not considered complete until we receive your check; only then will your child’s space in the program be ensured. |
| Check Payments |
Checks should be made payable to WWPSA and mailed to us at: WWPSA, PO Box 757, Princeton Junction, NJ 08550. |
| Refund Policy |
There will be a $10 service fee deducted for all refunds. Refunds may be requested until two weeks before the program begins. |

| Midweek Group Training |
All players are invited to attend additional optional group (not team) training run by professional trainers on Monday and Wednesday between 4:30pm and 7.30pm. All Players, except in the case of injury, will: |

|
- Be given the opportunity to play in each position but will not be forced to play in a position, with the exception that no player will be allowed to play only one position of their choice. Our goal is to teach all players how to play multiple positions.
|
| Jewelry & Hard Casts |
Jewelry of any kind (including small studs and metal hair clips) and hard casts may not be worn during practices or games. Players with recently pierced ears cannot participate until the earrings can be removed, so plan accordingly -- either get ears pierced long enough before the season starts to allow them to be removed for the first practice, OR wait until after the season is completed. |

It is possible that two or more players on the same team may have the same uniform number. For anyone who has a current uniform, but needs to purchase one item (for example to replace a lost shirt), there will be an opportunity to do so at the Uniform Evening. |

WWPSA will conduct a background check based on the information provided unless the volunteer coach has been checked within the prior three (3) years. Coaches are also required to attend a mandatory coaches clinic. |
| Volunteers |
Parents are asked to volunteer to help run the Association and its programs. The Association is run solely by volunteers and we need your help. Click here to learn more about the kind of activities you can volunteer for. |
| Sponsors |
We appreciate the generosity of the businesses and people that sponsored teams last year. Please support them. If you or your business is interested in sponsoring a recreational team this year, please click here. |
| Parking |
Please bear the safety of the players in mind. We ask that you DRIVE SLOWLY and only park, stop or drop off players in the designated parking lots and areas and walk the players to the fields. Specifically we require that you do not park, stop or stand on the side of any road in the Sarnoff Complex or on the side of South Post Road when accessing Conover Field. |
| Pets |
Please do not bring dogs or other pets to the fields for practices or games. |
| Cancellations |

|
| Weather Cancellation Policy |
NEW: Beginning in 2008, the Fall Recreational Soccer Weather Cancellation Policy with work as follows: |
- The decision to cancel due to weather will be made by the Director of Recreational Soccer, unless, all WWPSA fields have already been closed for ALL activities by the Executive Director.
|
- The decision to cancel will be made based on two factors (a) the condition of the fields immediately prior to the event and/ or (b) the weather forecast at the time of the event.
|
- For Saturday morning games, the decision to cancel will be made and posted at www.wwpsa.org no later than 8am. For Monday and Wednesday midweek evening group training sessions, the decision will be made no later than 3pm.
|
- For Saturdays, the decision will be made separately for two age-ranges as follows: (a) Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd Grades and (b) 3rd Grades and older. We anticipate, in the event of very cold weather, we may decide to cancel events for the youngest ages while retaining the possibility to continue with scheduled games for older age groups.
