Former WWPSA Players Excel in College

The Trenton Times recently reported in its  "Local Athletes In The Nation’s Colleges" section about former WWP player Lauren Lentine who is attending Frostburg State University where the team advanced to the ECAC Championships. Lauren is an alumni from the WWP Riptide. Several other former Riptide players continue to enjoy success at college:

  • Kate Rutkowski - University of Richmond, advanced to the Atlantic 10 semi-finals
  • Jenna Godwin - Kean University, was named to the NJAC 2nd team all-stars
  • Kelly McLaughlin - American University, advanced to the Patriot League semi-finals
  • Mary Peters - Gettysburg College, advanced to the Centenial Conference semi-finals
  • Stephanie Lally - Crown College, won the NCCAA Division II Championships. Scored one of the PK goals in the championship game.
  • Kristina Shemming - TCNJ, won the NCAA Division II Regional Championships. Looking to advance to the National Championships.

Kelly McLaughlin Contributes At American University

Kelly McLaughlin, a former WWP Riptide player and graduate of WWP High School South had a successful freshmen year with the American Eagles. McLaughlin made contributions right away playing in all 18 games and starting 14 of them in the midfield. American finished its season at 9-7-2 and 3-3-1 in the Patriot League.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Stephanie Lally named NCCAA / NSCAA Division II Women's Soccer All-American Team

Stephanie Lally, a former WWP Riptide player and 2006 graduate of WW-P North was named to the NCCAA / NSCAA Division II Women’s Soccer All-American Team. In addition, Stephanie was named to the NCCAA Soccer Championship Series Division II Women’s All Tournament Team. Lauren Lentine Key Player for Frostburg State University

Lauren Lentine of Princeton Junction is a key player on the Frostburg State University (FSU) squad that locked up first place in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference regular season as well as home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.

Kristina Shemming: Aids TCNJ Advancement to 2006 NCAA Division III Championships
