Stephanie Lally named NCCAA / NSCAA Division II Women's Soccer All-American Team

Stephanie Lally, a former WWP Riptide player and 2006 graduate of WW-P North was named to the NCCAA / NSCAA Division II Women’s Soccer All-American Team. In addition, Stephanie was named to the NCCAA Soccer Championship Series Division II Women’s All Tournament Team.

The Crown College Storm women’s soccer team won the NCCAA National Championship on Saturday afternoon with a 2-1 win over Baptist Bible College. The Storm fended off an early first half goal to score one of their own with 12 minutes left in the opening half by Steph Lally. Lally came back again with the game winning goal with 12 minutes left in the game to put the Championship in their hands.

With a win over #3 seeded Southeastern University , Crown advances to the NCCAA Division II National Championship game. Crown defeated Southeastern on Thursday afternoon in a close 2-1 game. Southeastern was able to put up their goal early in the first half, but Crown was able to counter with a goal by Courtney Dixon with six minutes left in the half. The Storm then was able to put the game away when Steph Lally scored in the second half for the winning goal. Crown also had assists by Bethany Rossetti and Sharon Haggerty.

With the win, Crown will play in the championship game on Saturday at 3:30 against Baptist Bible College of Pennsylvania. scored in the second half for the winning goal. UMAC And NCCAA Player of the Week Awards for Crown

Stephanie Lally received both Upper Midwest Athletic Conference and NCCAA Player of the Week honors for the week of October 23-28th. This is the second time this year Stephanie has won each of the awards. She also won the awards for her stellar performace during the week of October 8th when she had 10 goals and three assists in four games. This time Stephanie led the Storm through the NCCAA Regional Tournament that was hosted by Crown. She had a total of five goals and two assists in two games against the top regional teams. Her efforts helped lead Crown to the NCCAA National Tournament in Florida.

Crown has now received 10 UMAC Player of the Week honors as well as 5 NCCAA Players of the Week for the fall season.
